I was advised that my bubble wall will have a negative effect on my plants by increasing the O2 in the water. Is this true. I put it in as i had a small one in my last tank and the cories used to love frolicking in it. Bubble wall is 8ft (length of tank). I add liquid carbon (seachem flourish excel) but no CO2.

This should be moved to the planted section. I don't have an answer to your question, but flouridh excel does not work on large tanks. You really should get a c02 system if you have the money for an 8ft planted

Why would flourish excel not work in a larger tank ?
I have a CO2 system, but running CO2 and a bubble wall would be counter productive, as one adds CO2 and 1 removes it.
To my mind Flourish Excel has some advantages over CO2
Flourish excel won't suffocate my fish.
Flourish excel isn't reduced by the use of bubble wall
Flourish excel isn't in a form that algea can use, so is less likely to cause algea issues than CO2 diffuser.

I kinda think of my self as having a fish tank that has plants in it rather than having a planted tank if that makes sense. The plants are there to clean water and provide oxygen and cover for the comfort of my fish.

yes, it would be counter productive ( forgot to mention- assumed that u would take down wall if u added c02). To answer ure question im not sure why excel does not work with larger tanks i just remember hearing when i was planning a 55 gallon tank that excel does not work well. Maybe something about not being distributed to all the tank? Also excel will be more expensive in the long run.
