After kick starting my co2 diffuser back in to action I have noticed a small build up of brown dirt on the top of the ceramic.

Is it worth removing this periodically or will it cause no harm?

Thanks,
Paul

It's probably algae, brown algae which used to be on mine.... imo i found it was due to no or little flow because of the lip on the diffuser. Yes removing often is the better option... it will eventually clog the diffuser and make it less efficient.

Most difussers suffer from this, a soak for a few hours in a weak bleach solution does the trick.
