I've had two very small bristlenose pleco's put into my 10 gallon quaratine tank...both have disappeared...and I don't mean like are hiding, I mean are no longer in the tank. I have 2 assassin snails and 3 harlequin rasbora's in there...that's it.

Do they just die and rot away under some rock? Cleaning today, nada...

I had one disappear a few months ago. Never found a body, just gone. I assume he died and was eaten by snails but really have no idea.

I'm trying to decide if third time is a charm or if I should move on lol

The snails and fish would have eaten the bodies, like double Dutch said. Although once I was babysitting and their 9inch pleco somehow jumped out. However unless you find bodies outside the tank the snails would have eaten them

Rule one of QT, check the tank in detail twice daily, otherwise it's a waste of time to do it. If a fish the size and structure of an Ancistrus is vanishing - they take time to either decompose or be eaten. Eliminate the number of hiding places.
