Bright green algae

On my onion plant, I have noticed that a bright green algae is appearing on the leaves, is this bad, as all other a;gae, which is kept at bay by my platys is dark green or brown

any algae is going to resrict the amount of light hitting the plants leaves...
try cutting down the time the light is on and try checking your water levels...you may need to do more water changes

if you are not over stocked add some sword tails too,

my 2 males eat the algae off of my plants and bogwood quite often.
