Breeding net

A few day ago i bought a breeding net for my swordtail but i wanted to know when i should put her in it. Also is it strange for her to be towards the bottom if shes pregnate?

Yep it is! she will not move much as well! good luck! i think its up to you when to put your sowrd in the net

I think she should get a little tube out the back when she's about to drop. I think I'd move her then and move her out when she's stopped, leaving the fry in the net.

Its always a difficult decision when to move the Mums cos if she gets too stressed out she may abort the babes. As late as possible I'd say.

Thanks for the replies.

I did think about her getting stressed sunflower but since this is my first fish breeding i dont know what she will look like when shes about to give birth.
I also heard that swordtails give birth early in the morning (im wake up early) so i dont want to miss it and have them all eatin.
