My pair of DG's have settled well, the male did start buiding a bubblenest, then stopped...

The tank is a 10 gal with various silk & live plants,bogwood etc.Ammonia & Nitrite 0,nitrate 5,ph 7.8.Plenty of filtration.
Temperture is around 78 degrees.

I have been feeding them mini granules/flakes & bloodworm/bbs.

Theres been a lot of chasing by the male towards the female lately, unsure whether this is a concern.

Anyhows i'm wanting to attempt them to breed,i've read that lowering the waterline and upping the temperature helps-is this true??

Thanks :)

Yep that helps stimulate them :hey: My mate breeds Honey Gouramis (which breed similarly to DGs) and he does those things (live foods, waterline and upping the temperature) to get them to breed. Also, make sure your filter is very gentle and also, floating plants and mosses will help them to 'do it' :good: After that, not much you can do but wait -_- :/ :)

Thanks Carl :good:

I have cleaned them today and now dropped the level a few inches and raised the temperature to 80 degrees, fed bloodworm and now its watch this space

My family think i'm mad talking to the fish  has i've had words today with the male, telling him i expect to see a bubblenest appearing very soon....

He's very amusing,i feed them using a turkey baster has the female wont have a look in otherwise  and he keeps following the baster around trying to catch the food coming out of the end of it
