Last night I moved my really pregnant guppy to a breeder net because I don't want to lose any of the babies this time to other hungry little guppies but she's not happy with me at all for this. I also increased the temp by one or two degrees and did a 5% water change last night hoping to counteract the stress of the net and induce her birth. I'm sure she must be due. She's just so huge but this morning still no fry. Should I leave her there. She's not freaking out in there any more but I'm sure she's still not happy. I'm thinking it would mean more stress on her to move her out and then back in so I should just leave her there. Is it ok even if her babies don't come for a few more days?

I got some arrived the other week and by accident it was when I come home from holiday and she was having them in the main tank (and the other fish were eating hem) I quickly set up a floating beeder and got 8 fry from her in about 1 hour....so this time(as the other ones about to pop) I will wait til she starts then move her. I dont know if this is best but it worked out ok last time.....

Many guppies won't give birth or give birth prematurely when put in a breeder net. Its like being locked up in a closet, enough to make anyone (or any fish) claustrophobic. Personally I think the best thing to do would be to leave her in the main tank and try to catch as many fry as you can. Its worked effectively for me. The only time I tried using a breeder trap with guppies I ended up with a dead guppy.

Thanks for the advise. I removed her from the net last night because I was worried and she seems to be doing ok but still no sign of babies. Thanks again.

Fortunally my gups dont usually eat their fry.I don't have the need to put them in one of these devises.I only use them if I really need to or want to save some specific fry.I usually take the babies and keep them there for a week or so,until they get stronger(I keep albinos and they are usually smaller and weaker than regular gups).
My advise to anyone is,let the females have the babies in the main tank and then catch any survivor and either raised them in the same tank inside a breeding net or,take the fry to a nursery tank.
Keeping a pregnant livebearer inside one of these things for too long, could cause abortion, early delivery and even death to the female.
