Never heard of gouramis as marine fish. I'm doubtful -- they're a primary freshwater fish family characterised by a low tolerance of salt. Guppies certainly can be adapted to marine, but it is a slow process and not worth doing. Mollies can be adapted to marine in a couple of hours, and is very easy. Mollies thrive in marine tanks.
Broadly speaking, high-end brackish fish, like shark catfish, monos, and GSPs, do as well in marine water as in brackish. Low-end brackish fish, like bumblebees and glassfish, usually cannot be adapted to marine. There are some exceptions. Mollies, as mentioned, are low-salinity fish that do well in brackish, while some mid-salinity fish, like orange chromides, tigerfish, and archerfish, do not usually do well in marine conditions.
Cheers,
Neale
