Hey guys in a couple of days i will be getting bottom feeders. I had ghost shrimp before but i dont know if they are bottom feeders. I just got them cause they where so nice looking. Anyhow if they are bottom feeders can i get them and some (i think these is what they are called) red tailed sharks or just one or the other? Another question that i have is are under water filters good because i was thinking of getting one to keep my tank cleaner. And if they are good which one would be the best one for a 46 gallon tank. Thax In Advance.

I would classify shrimp as bottom feeders since they eat detritus off the substrate.

One of the Fluvals should be good for your needs (probably the 4 Plus)

I don't like undergravel filters :p too much hassle... Just get a power filter or something like that - fluval is good.

You could get a red-tailed black shark provided you don't already have similar looking fish as it'll chase them around.

Ghost shrimp would be bottom feeders IMO.

I'm not certain whether or not the adult shark would eat little shrimp though :p
