Hi I got myself a pair of Bolivian Rams couldn't resist at 7 quid for a pair, plus I've been after some for a while, but I'm not so sure on the sexes I've got so I'm hoping some of you that are more experienced with rams can help me out and tell me what I've got please.

I'm thinking there both the same sex.

They are either juvenile or both females as the male has an extended first spine on the dorsal fin. Hope this helps.

hard to tell at the moment - kinda look like females but they only look young so you never know :)

Thank you both, yeah it does help as I was thinking males but now know different, possibly

Pretty much the same as what the women in the shop said to with them being this young its hard to tell, I tried looking for the differences I've seen on various sites but they all looked pretty much the same.

I don't think I saw one mention the dorsal fin (or I missed/forgot it) but I'll make sure I remember that one.

Guess its a bit of a waiting game now then until they grow a bit.

Thanks again

They are either juvenile or both females as the male has an extended second spine on the dorsal fin. Hope this helps.

Its been a while since I asked this last time and they've grown a bit since, so second time round

From the sites I've seen most say what I have are males and the others say female, either way there both the same sex anyway.

What I'm looking for is a definite if possible on what I have so I can then try and trade one for the opposite sex.

Pictures are crappy but best I could do, very camera shy.

Thanks

Very hard to tell with bolivians. If they were GBR's, I could sex them for you. I've found the best way to get a pair with rams in general is to buy a bunch and let them pair off or wait until they show their vent tubes to sex them, then return/trade the others.
