Would they work in a 20 gallon/100 litre aquarium approx two and a half foot in length? If so how many rams would be comfortable in there?

You should ideally buy a male and two females and wait for them to pair off then get rid of the lone female.

Normally I recommend 6 to start the after getting a pair sell the rest, but a 20 gallon is a little small for that.

Wow, I thought they were too big for a 20 gallon If I ever get tired of my betta/tetra/oto setup, I might just get a pair.
