Just over a week ago I made a post about my sick Gourami, who had a small hole on his side, the hole is now about 4 times as big and he is laying at the bottom of the tank, now and then comming up for air. The same thing happened a week before to one of my silver tip tetras who has since died. I was advised by WILDER to medicate my tank which I did with Tetra Medica. I did a 60% water change today, any other ideas?

p.s. I examined the lesion and it is a pink circle almost to the level of the scales with a small white/grey dot, is this a parasite? I have tried brushing it off, but it feels rock hard, maybe just the scales healing?

Those tonic meds are not very good in my opinion.
I think it might be to late for the fish now. If you can isolate I would double dose anti internal bacteria med by interpet.
Any signs of flicking and rubbiing?

Sorry to hear the fish can has gone down hill fast.

No signs of rubbing, it just lays at the bottom of the tank now, now and then making it to the surface for air, but it doesn't eat.

I think roadmaster got it right with Iridovirus, I looked at the pics and description online and it seems spot on, but what puzzles me is the death of my Silver Tip Tetra a couple of weeks back, it acted very similar to my Gourami, but had no lesion, maybe just a coincidence. I've had them die before, but they showed no sign of illness before they died, it's been at least 18 months since the last death, matbe the Tetra was just old? But I'm quite concerned that maybe this is something that will affect all my fish, I have 17 left.

I'll check out that Interpet med.

Thanks.

I agree. Poor thing.
I don't like the tonic meds. There not very good and a waste of money.
I would try and get some esha 2000.
He really needs antibiotics in isolation to be honest.

Good Luck.

Is there a general antibiotic I can keep in case this happens again?

Update:
My Blue has just passed, any idea what this mark is? I need to protect my remaininf fish.

From this...

It looked bacterial to me how it was eating the skin away.
Antibiotics in the UK are only available from a vet, or doctor.
You can buy furanol 2 by JBL. But it will wipe the good bacteria out in your filter. So
I would only advise using the medication in isolation.

I would just preform a few water changes on your tank over the next few days.

Ok will do, thanks for all your help.
