Ive added two Silver Dollars to my 57litre tropical tank today. Ive already had a Blue Gourami for a couple of months and it is constantly preying on the new Silver Dollars chasing them around the tank, nipping them etc. Is this usual behaviour? It isnt aggressive to the existing fish I have at all.

I see there are several threads about aggressive blue and golden gouramis. They tend to be like that, especially males. Mine is fine with all the other fish but won't tolerate any other gourami in there as he chases it non-stop.

is it a blue spot gourami
cos if it is the tank if far too small for the fish as it grows and you have added fish to his territory
they need 200 litre tank minimum if you wish to mix it with other fish

Silver dollars also need a tank of at least 100 litres , grow to 5-6" and should also be groups of 6+

I think the tank is to small, Gourami more so the males like to have there own space and can be very aggresive if another fish enters there space. :good:

Hope that helps
