Hi everyone, I'm brand new here - I've kept freshwater tropical fish for years now, but I'm thinking about changing up the contents of my tank.  I have two plecos and a blood parrot fish, and I wanted to know if the parrot would eat the cherry red shrimp that I want to add, and also if he will eat live plants.  Thanks for your help!

Welcome to the forum, LSchoures :)

The parrot will definitely eat shrimps!

You might have some luck with tough plants (like anubias and Java fern), but it depends on the temperament of your actual fish.

Thank you for your response Mre Treguard - do you think he will eat snails? He's so innocent looking

It's hard to tell if they'd eat snails or not.

What species of snail were you thinking of?

I'm not entirely sure; perhaps start a thread in the Shrimps and invertebrates section and someone will probably know :)
