lets here all the methods you use to control this anoying little form of algae?

There are three methods for controlling the dreaded blanket weed.
1. Use an algecide
2. Use a UV steralisation unit + good filtration system.(especially if you have valuable fish)
3. Good old elbow grease and a fish net.

other than the ones ive quoted, there are natural ways to keep blanket weed down. have watersnails, use barley straw (Found in most garden centres or pet stores) and *** dahdah *** have running water such as a waterfall etc. blanket weed hates running water! Or even get two small tiny ducks they think its wonderfull!!!!
p.s rater than a net being used to scoop it out, rake it out! yay. hope that helps
p.p.s you might find that the algecide wipes out other plants and micronisms too.awww.
