Black water

Hello, I’m wondering if I could boil oak leaves to get black water, To add to my tank has anyone done this, with no dead fish.

You can make blackwater tea with oak leaves, or just drop autumn collected, browned leaves into the tank. Eventually, they get messy.
I use oak leaves or rooibos tea for tannins in the water.

KH has to be 0 (i.e., pure ro water) before adding the leaves.... else it will take an awful lot of leaves to absorb the kh.
