Just got in from an evening out and turned the tank light on to find this...

Just sitting there, not even moving if i touch the glass...most of the tetras are just sitting around not moving, are they sleeping? All 6 of my rasboras are fine!

I think that may be the case actually i turned the light off but put one on in the room and they seem to be happy now. Going to do a small water change.

My swordies also sit atop the filter to sleep at night. Like chickens. At first that scared me too. But I got used to them doing that for 2 months now.

It really did scare me i could only see the one in the pic sitting on the floor not moving but they are all out and about now i guess i woke them up! Ooops sorry!

What scared me even more was when my red female swordtail swam inclined towards the light. I thought she'd have swim bladder but she does it only at night when the light comes from the area she points her back to. Then I read something about fish doing this to orient themselves according to the light to know which way is up. Don't know if that's true but it appears to be.

They must have just been sleeping cos they are all happy and active today.
That phantom looks so funny in that pic though, he's like "Omg! Who turned on the sun this early?!"
Mine usually rest on the filter. They somehow use their lower fins to sit as if they are legs. o_O
When I had bettas, they used to land on the floor on those same fins.
