Hi I have about 12 black phantom tetras..there is one acting strange in the tank never seen it do it before but it will put its nose up in the air and looks like it prancing around and about a group of 4 tetras will just watch him and follow him ā€œpranceā€ around Iā€™m just not sure if I should be worried or not as I canā€™t find anything online about it

I do not know what he has, (I'm still a beginner whilst I'm okay with stocking a tank adn how many fish in a tank, I'm not good whan it comes to illnesses) @Colin_T will know about it. Either way what is the tank dimensions length x width x height, and how much is it (10,20 gallons etc). May we see a picture please?

A pic or video would be good to see. Male Black phantoms do 'display' to other males as they work out their pecking order. This is usually seen by them flaring their fins, making themselves look bigger, and they might swim on their side a little.
Not too sure what you're describing with 'prancing around' though ?

Right ok, yeh that doesn't look normal. Does it have some white spots/lumps on its head at all? Kind of looks a bit like it on some of the pics?
Might have a swim bladder issue if it can't right itself. @Colin_T will able to diagnose and advise

Yeah he does have a lump on his head looking at him now and itā€™s discoloured from the rest of them he also has red under his body on his gills he has been doing this now for 3 days constantly...

The fish appears to have a swim bladder problem and is sinking to the bottom whenever it stops swimming. If this is what happens when it stops swimming, then euthanise it because there is no cure and the fish will burn itself out trying to stay in the water column with the other fish..
