i have 2 black neon tetras in my rtopical tank and they seem to want some friends since the other 3 passed away. i dont have any room in that tank anymore and i dont really want to sell them without knowing they are going to a good home,since they were my very first fish.
so i was wondering if it was possible to put them in my goldfish tank? i know they are supposed to be in warm water but i've heard that a lot of fish are very adaptable?

going by your sig, id put them in your larger tank and get another 4 or 5.

No, they will not do good in coldwater tanks. :crazy:

+1 above, don't put tropical fish into coldwater tanks!

it wouldnt hurt to add a few more
well my plan was to buy a new bigger tank and move the harlequins into that one and buy 7 more to go with them and move the black neons to somewhere else so that i have more room to breed guppies and add more glowlights and neons.

Hurm, I'd keep only one or two species of schooling fish in the smaller tank, actually.. instead of the 5 you have now.. >.<

well if you decide to get rid and are close by sheffield let me know what you want for them and ill add them to my shoal of 15 black neons in my 6ft tank :good:

how about just having guppies and neons?
That would work, and you're less likely to have problems with overstocking then (from the guppy babies)! Even having guppies, neons + 1 species would work. (The schooling ones from there are black neons, neons, glowlights, harlequins and otos.)
In terms of numbers, you should be quite safe to have..
* 7 guppies
* 16 schooling fish in total, split between 2 species (for example 8 and 8 midwater or 10 midwater and 6 otos) - personally, I would always prefer only one species :)
* assassin snail
and that would still leave you with more stocking space for the future.
