I have had my tank up and running now for over 6 months, recently migrated over to keeping real plants as well!!!
what i have noticed over the last week or so is the water seems to have lots of bits floating around in it?? Not sure where they are coming from either???

Just wondered if you guys could recommend a way to get rid of them??

Many thanks

Neil

I think really what you need to do is determine the source of the 'bits'. Could it be the cotton type stuff binding your plant roots? or even an incompatible plant that is braking up?

Until you find this out, I very much doubt you'll find a solution.

I take off the cotton bits before i plant my plants, i have no broken plants, they are all doing very well, suprising really for my first attempt!!! It's not really bad just a bit annoying seeing these very very small particles floating about!!! Maybe it's me being to picky?

Excessive feeding?

Fish waste?

I'm not being picky, here, it's just, if the root of the problem can't be found, you are not going to get the water as clear as you want.

On the other hand. Some fish just make a mess. My big pleco, it's always shifting around and knocking up dirt.
Perfectly natural.
