The joy of Oscars, is that what goes in, will come out, almost identical to how it went in!! They are small, just you wait until they get bigger
Also be aware that when you change anything in their tank, move wood, plants, do a water change, they will sulk and play dead and scare the poop outta ya

Funny things.
I read your going out to get them some pellets, highly recommend hikari cichlid gold or growth (floating) also tetra doromin is a firm favourite with all the Oscars Ive kept. Frozen pretty much anything, mussel, krill, brineshrimp, bloodworm, prawn etc, I used to defrost the cubes but as they get bigger, Ive found all mine LOVE to take the whole cube from frozen like a lolly, lord knows why it must freeze their mouths, but mine go nuts for frozen. And if your late with a meal, at their size, Id recommend 3 small meals a day, you will know about it, they learn quickly to jump up and rattle the lid, splash around to get your attention, mine seem to have an internal clock, I know if Im late with food as it sounds like the tank is breaking up with their attempts to remind me how starved they are
