Well here we go. My daughter (Lil'Fella) and I are new to fish keeping. For the last 6 months we have successfully keep fish alive and happy. Our Betta, Flame, in his 5 gallon, and the LOTR gang in their 36 gal bow front. Now we move to the 120 gallon. We got this for free from friends of a friend that just wanted it gone. It was in really good shape and came with stand and about 70 lbs of fine gravel sub-strait. We added 20 lb of Eco-complete and mixed it in. Now we are off to the LFS to find just the right piece of drift wood.

The left side of the aquarium, where the glass joins in the front, it looks like the silicon is cream/ white. Can you check this for me?

Look to see if the silicon (glue between the glass) is the same colour on all corners/ sides, and there are no bubbles or white bits. Bubbles and white bits indicate the silicon is not attached to the glass or the silicon is breaking down.

It could just be the light from the camera flash.

Colin is right, I didn't see it the first time, but I looked at the picture closer, and it does look creamy/white. Hopefully it just looks like that from the camera flash

Thanks for looking out. I checked the silicon and there are no bubbles or white spots. I felt along all seems and it is still very pliable. The picture defiantly makes it look more white than it is. We did get a very nice piece of driftwood. Makes a nice center piece. About 30" across and 20"tall. Rocks, water, and plants are next. Will get some pics of those and soon as the inevitable tannin tint clears. Also, got the back painted navy blue.

Nice tank. You can also put the Betta in a community tank just put him in last. If not he will become territorial. I have a male Betta in my 75gal. and all is fine.

That sounds like a great Idea. Thanks. I was thinking of moving our Pearl Gouarmi to this tank and getting a few more(3-4 females and possibly another male). I could then move Flame to the 36 gallon with the platies. Thoughts?

Nice salvage operation Awesome when you can get the critters to do the work for you.

Bleach and bushynose it is Got a similar issue with some of my anubias. Just seems to build up diatoms? over time...
