Yes, it WAS a species tank as of a day ago... haha... long story. they will not ALL be staying, mark my words. :good:

the blue and yellow does look incredible together, i must say!

i'm not relocating just yet... but as they mature / get bigger there is simply too many to co-exist peacefully in my tank.

the idea sometimes with cichlids is if you start with a larger number young, you can weed out aggressors as they mature, and also attempt to establish a good male to female ratio. (too many males can be bad).

but for now they are adorable. can't get over how good it looks. not a single one is shy either, from day one they were out and about, stealing food from the bigger yellow lab. it's great!

lovely tank can i ask is it fresh water or salt

Freshwater. Before I started this hobby, I was convinced I wanted to go saltwater. But after getting to know African Cichlids, boy I sure don't regret going freshwater. The colors and personalities are awesome. :)

thats awesome! may I ask the tank size (not to critize but out of curriousity!)

it's a 37g. much smaller than i'd like it to be.

in time i have plans for transfer to a bigger tank and/or weeding out the biggest aggressors, etc.

But for now, it's wonderful watching these little babies interact. They all came from the same tank at the LFS too.

Cool , love the rockwork.

thanks so much. i appreciate the compliment! it was my first attempt. i was worried it wouldn't turn out too well, but it's workin pretty well.

my synocat has found one spot for himself, and all the little baby cobalts and labs love zippin in an out. my bigger lab has found certain paths he loves to just swim in big circles, in one end and out the other. there are so many channels in there for the babies, when they go in , you never know where they are gonna come out. :)

to anyone considering switching over to sand and lots of rockwork, do it! especially if you house cichlids. it's so fun to watch them! :)
