I'm currently cycling a tank and wondering if bettas can be kept in the same tank as mollies. I have sailfin mollies than often display and fight among themselves. Will they fight with a betta? :dunno: I'm not getting my hopes up, it's just that I love both types of fish & don't have any suitable bowls & don't like the cramped look of betta barracks. :)

Well, you could always try it, but have a backup plan. I've never had a problem with my betta's in a community tank.

Good Luck

When I first put Jasper the Betta in to my community tank, my male molly swam up to him and started displaying his dorsal fin. However, he soon saw how 'well endowed' Jasper was in the fin department and swam of, no doubt feeling inadequate!

Since then, no worries, apart from when Jasper is busy doing his lengths and he gets in my grumpy golden gouramis flight path.

My Betta used to beat up on my Convict Cichlids when I had him in the tank.

I only removed him because the barbs liked his fins so much. He was king of the tank basically.
