True

Bettas are always in danger of getting fins nipped too. Their long fins are a big temption to many other fish. There are many fish that are considered no-no's with Betta

But some things that shouldn't work, will--at least for awhile. Bettas often get more tempermental as they mature. They can be fickle little bad pretty boys. And we love them!

How about posting a pick of your boy in the Tribute?

Yeah It Is True Unfortunately. They Especially Attack Fish With Large, Fancy Tales, Like Guppies :(

There is lots of that going around. In sociology it is referred to as a "Sound Wall!" Often metaphored with ear buds or boom boxes blasting music. :X

Below is a link to a basic info page to the well respected IBC in CA. We also have some FAQs pinned above.

California International Betta Society FAQ Page

There is information in the above IBC article that is hottly debated. That means to me that it is adjustable by the hobbiest. When new it is probably wise to heed the more conservative advice.

just went ot check on my fish and the blue betta my partner got and taken a chunk out of one of the fish and killed it. it then started to attack the rest of the fish. unfortunately. so now my BF has listened and will be taking the fish back. a shame. unfortunately there will be no pics of him.

I'm sorry. Although it's good that BF is listening a little.

Can't have a smallish Betta tank? Keep the Betta?

fraid we havent got room for another tank. its a shame. i just didnt think it would be a smaller fish it killed, i honestly thought it would be a guppy or one of the slightly larger fish. my BF was surprised at the size of the chunk it took out of my fish. and all he could say was "i thought fish didnt have teeth".
we're going to see if the shop will take it back, maybe next time it get homed to a better place.

Which fish did it kill?

Ask the BF if he has ever heard of Pirhanas? haha
