I just purchased a betta and have him in a bowl a bit larger than 1 gallon. The people I have spoken with at the aquarium let me know it was fine to keep your betta in room temp water approx 70. However, after much reading it seems the betta like the water much warmer than that. Also there is more than a 3 degree temp change in the water throughout the day. I would really like to create a nice home for my fish. Is there a good way to stabalize the water temp in a bowl? Which heater would work best?

i have one of my boys in a 2.5g with a 7.5 watt heater. it looks like a miniature heating pad, and runs about $18.99 at Big Als...(i haven't seen these anywhere else so far) it is submergable, but you can also place the bowl on top of the heater if it is too big to fit under the gravel in the bowl. hope this helps.
