I'm planning to keep some of my wild bettas in an outdoor pond. The problem is, they jump.
How high can they jump ? There's quite a bit of distance from the waterline to the rim, about 20 centimeters. Is it possible for them to jump out and kill themselves ?

Most only jump 3-4 inches above the water so 20cm (8 inches) should be plenty. If your concerned, buy some mosquito netting from a place that sells material for making clothes (somewhere like Spotlight), and cover the pond with the mosquito net.

If you have a lot of floating plants, they will be less inclined to jumping.
