hello i recently just got a new 10 gallon tank and some fish. i really like fish and want to continue it as a hobby. i want to breed some of my fish. i need help? i have a male and a femal swordtail and i have a male and a female betta fish and also i have 2 white clouds. i want to mate my swordtails and also try mating my bettas. they are all in the same tank and they all get along very well. if anyone could give me tips, links to helpful videos or sites, or anything that will be good for me to look at to help guide me through the mating process of bettas and swordtails.

Your tank is too small to consider breeding any of those fish.
Swordails can have 30+ fry every month, have you considered how you'd rehome them?
Keeping male & female bettas together is a recipe for disaster, it rarely ends well.
you should only put them together for breeding.
Breeding bettas is not for inexperienced fish keepers, the fry have to be separated early on & kept in individual tanks or jars.
have you the room for 100+ betta fry jars?
Sorry to sound harsh, but you really need to learn a bit more before considering breeding

That male Betta will most likely be aggressive to the female, and possibly the swordtails, To be honest it's either the Male alone or the others without him. If you want to breed these fish, I agree with Lilfishy, you'll need a LOT more space. If there are any fry with your current set up, they'll most likely get eaten I'm afraid :/

If you want to attempt breeding, or keeping these fish in their optimum conditions you should have a look at their individual needs and requirements online.

Good Luck.

i agree, your tank is way to small and betta breeding must be thouroughly researched beforehand, they could rip each other to bits if not conditioned to each other properly even then its hit or miss, you also say your tank is a recent addition,  is it cycled?

thanks for the feedback! And i have been doing some research on my bettas. iI also have seperated the male, and as soon as i did he started forming his bubble nest! is this a good sign that he is ready to mate? and yes i have many 1gal bowls and plenty of supplies. i have had fish since i was 5 and im 18 now so i dont think finding them am home will be hard :) but once again thanks for the feedback. Many more questions to come! haha

and also my male betta and female betta rarely fight and they are always together swiming around. The only agressive fish (which isnt really agressive at all) is my male sowrdtail.
