What is a "complete" diet for them? Right now I have 4 foods picked out- Daphnia, blood worms, Tubifex worms, and brine shrimp. Can I add any other foods like the Discus and Angel foods by Hikari? This would make me feel better they are getting a complete diet.

Im a total newbie to these and trying to find out anything I can. I will have 2 pairs in a 15 gallon tank. I will have tannins from wood when I first get it but nothing else, as IAL and tea are soo expensive, I can't really afford it. However, I was told they dont need it, which made me feel better

I feed mine on hatched baby brine shrimp and grindal worms. They also love frozen brine shrimp, daphnia, glassworms, bloodworms and sometimes beefheart. Basically just remember they are bettas and omnivores so feed like you would most any of the other species of bettas.

No worries on the tannins either. They will do fine without. Though they do enjoy it it is not a necessity by any means.
