I am having a hard time find rams. Where do you suggest getting them online? Also how many pairs in a 55gallon?

Judging by a previous post I believe you are in Iowa? If that is true, I've heard positive feedback on liveaquaria. They also have Electric Blue, German Blue, and German Gold Rams in stock. Last time I checked anyways.

Make sure you have some hiding spots for them (rock cave or ornaments). They do like a slightly higher water temp, and very picky on water quality. I've been trying very hard to get some Electric Blue Rams, but haven't been successful yet. Good luck.
