so the first time i tryed this post failed when someone started talking about making a hood out of legos lol. i was given a 20G tall aquarium about a week ago with a standard hood. im looking to put my extra plants in this tank for fast growth. in larger tanks good lighting is so easy to find, however with this tank i cannot seem to get my lighting situation worked out. it came with a 15W 16000k 18" t8 bulb. today i purchased a second fixture and put a floraglo in it. right now im at 30w total and i dont think thats enough for fast growth. im also unsure of the 16000k being beneficial. i have api laterite and flourite substrate. i will hook up my co2 reactor when it is required. i also use api plant food. right now i just have my extra wisteria, anubias, hairgrass, java ferns and moss in the tank. the hairgrass is beginning to melt and im seeing small holes in my ferns. (nutrient deficiency?)so my real question here is: what is the best lighting for me to get? money isnt a huge deal, i just want fast, healthy growth.
