I saw some of these at a LFS the other day and wondered if they would work in a sand-bottom 30g tank with some small fish (2" and up) Those fish would be peacock gudgeons, badis, keyholes, and maybe some apisto sized dwarf cichlids :)

should be fine, you might want to make sure the smallest fish is more aounrd 3" though just to make sure.

I agree, No Very Tiny Fish as they are Trap Door Feeders, Near there mouth they will try it.

Well we had a slight problem in the peacock gudgeon fry tank :rip: :byebye:

It'll be a while before there are any 2" fish in any of my tanks

So now the smallest fish will be badis (well for a few months anyway), which are much deeper bodied and slightly longer :D

Banjo cats are usually fine with even small fish like tetras though as with everything there are exceptions for different fishes personalities.
Personally i have never had any problems keeping banjos with smaller fish, my son has 2 in his community tank with guppies and glowlight tetras, however i find them to be a bit of a waste of bioload as i have seen bogwood that is more active

I'll talk to my dad, maybe we'll pic a few up from the store :)

They need to be saved, Isn't gravel a no-no with these guys?
