I am looking to aquascape my 20g. I currently am starting some riccia and blyxa japonica that just came in with the already established java fern and moss, red sword, and melon sword. I am looking to get background plants now, any ideas? I have 3wpg and co2 diy. No ferts. I like Rotala wallichii right now but open to suggestion. Thanks!

Firstly you're going to need ferts, something that contain some nitrate and phosphate. Something like Tropica Plant nutrition +. You might also struggle with DIY CO2 on a 30g.

as for background plants, i'd have a look at Crypt balasae, vallis, swords, aponogetons.

Co2 is working great for me. I like the vallis. Is there any easily propagated stem plants with some red? I think it would blend nicely with my dark drift wood and my bronzing blyxa.

Do you prefer liquid or tablet ferts?
