Hey all,

I've been around aquarium forums for while then took a break due to illness.  While not a complete beginner, I certainly remain an amateur.

I've been trying to fully stock my 55 gal community tank for a couple years now but something always comes up - usually my fault.  For example, while visiting a lovely local fish emporium i did exactly what you are NOT supposed to do and spontaneously picked up a gorgeous pair of Koi Angelfish.  Eventually they began mating and terrorizing the rest of the community, even the Corys.  So they got the tank to themselves.

i've also stocked too quickly too many times.  I've refused to set up a quarantine tank.  I've not researched new inhabitants.  i redecorated with a bunch of unglazed terra-cotta pots and poisoned my tank.  I finally realized that the Febreze spray going in air all the time to "freshen up" after my teenage sons was getting into the water of my tank and hurting the fish.  That's just the beginning of my aquarium stories.  I'd like to think i've learned from my mistakes.

Anyway, after a long illness and my tank being left without much care, i am finally able to take care of it again and decided to join here to give and get help along the way. (I actually joined TFF last year but never did anything with my membership till now.)

So hello all!

I've included a pic from my tanks's happier days - which will hopefully return!View attachment 74261
