hi. i recently just set up a 60 ltr tropical tank about 6 weeks ago i have 2 kissing gouramis 3 melon barbs and 2 mollys, i looked in my tank this morning and there are about 30 baby fry swimming around! im guessing its the mollys what do i do with them! ? i got them seperated in a breeding net at the moment... any help cheers.

The fry will be ok in the net for a week or so,but ideally they would be better in a tank of their own. :)

By the way,i would re think your stock, kissing gouramis can reach up to 12 inches and melon barbs up to 6 inches, both require larger tank than a 60 litre.

Harlequins advice above is very good :good:

Id say 2-3 weeks in the net is fine, depending on size, mine is 6"x6" and they stay in there for 3-4 weeks before i release them in to the main tank.

Crushed flake, crushed pellets, you can also get fry food pr-done from your lfs.. liquifry is also a option just dont over feed with it cos it does contaminate your water a little.

After 2 weeks, you can get frozen, bloodworms, daphnia, brineshrimp, oyster eggs, depending on what your lfs do, grate a bit up and feed them very small amounts, they will thrive on it.

Another good thing is baby brine shrimp, if you can get hold of some eggs and hatch your own the fry will go mental on them.

I would be quite surprised if molly fry only 2 weeks old survived in a tank with the gouramis and barbs in it.

As above says, with the fish u got, u got no chance of releasing them in there until they probably about 3 months old, possibly more. not worth the risk
