I was in Petco to pick up a new light bulb, and I happened to pass by their bettas. They're selling baby bettas now. Teeny tiny ones! Like an inch long! Of course, I brought one home. If it turns out to be a girl, she can go into my sorority. If it turns out to be a boy, he can stay where he is. At what size/age do bettas start showing their gender? And at what size/age do they become aggressive? From what I can tell, this betta will be a blue CT.

An inch long surely they are not selling betta at that age?

Do you have any pictures

As for your questions is depends on the fry, what you are feeding and how your cleaning the tank. However he or she should start showing colour at around 6-8 weeks old give or take. As for sexing them 12 weeks onwards

FishFanatic on here bought a tiny betta like that once, i think it may have been from the same place...

I don't know how old they are, unfortunately. Their cups are marked "betta baby," and they're selling for $1.99. My baby has claimed a leafy plant near the front of the tank, but it isn't shy and it's even started coming to the top for food. I'm feeding regular tropical flakes to the other fish, and crushing the flakes to bits for the baby. I tried taking pictures of this fish, but it won't sit still for a second! Here are the best I could get. #1 and #2. The best description of its size...maybe about 1/2 the size of a male guppy. I held a ruler to the tank when it was near the glass, and it measured under an inch.
