hey all!
I recently purchased 3 black banded rainbows and am wondering if ANY1 knows anything.
All I know is to feed them frozen food, live food and flake and that they're from north queensland. if any1 has any info I'd MUCH appreciate it!

M. nigrans. Black-banded Rainbowfish. 22C - 27C. PH 6 - 6.5. Total hardness up to 50 PPM. Grows to 7 cm.

I found this for you not much to go on but I hope it helps!

An easy fish to keep.
They can be kept in water from very soft to slightly hard. I'd keep them in slightly soft water though. Your right about feeding them but you can feed them flake food but just suplement there diet with live foods.
There also usually quite peacful, though small in-fighting can happen.
Good luck with them, there stunning fish.

Thank you everyone! your help was useful!!! Any info is good info!
My new trio is quite happy and hasn't caused any probs to this date, even to the small fish- and are quite happy with each other despite having 2 males and 1 female.
Im so happy with them!

Thanx especially for telling me the size they get to!!!!

luv BaBy NeOn........
