Okay, before you read the rest watch this video.

Now tell me you don't want some in your tank. It is Asellus aquaticus, an omnivorous scavenger/detritivore freshwater isopod found in temperate waters. The males carry the females around. It is also adorable.

C'mon, who can't love a face like this?

to me they look a tad ugly and a little to much like big fishes food

i dont think i want to put my hand in with them

They're only like underwater woodlice. I've seen them in ponds with dead leaf litter. Very cute. Let me know how you get on. Thinking of trying to find some freshwater seed shrimp my self. Some of the larger ones, 2mm+. Did I just say larger?
All the best from Bill.

 Interesting bug  but I prefer the look of Gammarus. These just look too much like wingless cockroaches or the uninvited woodlice that comes in my house

I have thousands upon thousand of these in my small pond, which is full up of leaves and rarely gets cleaned out .

I was thinking about adding some to my shrimp tank, but after seeing the population density in my pond, I'm not sure I want that in my shrimp tank -_- .
