Do you guys feed your cichlids a good amount of Greens? I find that most all my cichlids like or love greens like algae wafers and veggie pellets even dry sea weed. they like leafy greens too. The Ture parrot and blue acara are the only one that seems to not be that into the greens. My Uarus love it so do my severums, Festivums, buffalo head, EBJD, and Even my Discus they like algae wafers and eat green algae off the wood all the time. My angles like algae wafers but they eat ANYTHING!

So are you feeding enough veggies to your cichlids?
What ones of yours love it? What plant based food do you feed?

yes my oscars get coked shelled peas once a week to help thei digestion

Depends on the fish. If they'll eat lettuce and/or shelled peas I'll give them that.

TBH, most are more fussy (for example, I'm not met a flowerhorn who will eat peas or lettuce yet), so they get plenty of veggie pellets instead.

they must be VERY active after you feed them those!

my rams and angel all enjoy algae wafers, peas and frozen 'greens' + spirulina flakes. Each of these is given about twice a week.

lol wondered who would pick up on that . it was late when i typed that and i couldnt be bothered to go back and edit it . the only trouble is if they dint get them tghey get very angry

i give algae wafers once to twice a week to my common plec and the angels try to get a nibble. There must be some in the flakes and granules that i feed them, but i dont really take the time to unshell peas and boil and chop cucumbers i guess. its just too much work for two 3 1/2 inch angels.

Every time i've to feed veggies in any form nothing is interested in them. I've tried cucumber slices weighted down with either a lead weight, or a spoon through the middle and nothing not even my plecs go for it. I've tried lettuce speared with a spoon, and nothing tries it. Well, my female Jack enjoyed tearing chunks off, but she doesnt eat any. So i've currently given in with veggies. I just feed a good staple pellet currently (TetraDoromin cichlid pellets).

I havnt voted, as there isnt an option suitable for my situation :good:

Not all cichlids like greens but the ones that do go crazy for the stuff. My blue acara can do with out it my severum and uarus can't get enough of any greens.
