hi
am nking about putting these fish together in a community tank not sure if they would go well together tho

panda corys
three lined corys
zebra plec
common plec
bolivian rams
german blue rams
neon tetra
red tail black shark

how many would i put in ov each fish aswel???

What size tank ?

Would be concerned about the RTBS with the cichlids, although others will disagree.

If the tank is big enough, least 6ft for the common plec, then I see no problems with the others.

My only thoughts on that list would be regarding the cichlids. What size tank were these all going into? Just that, as you probably know, the rams can get territorial especially at spawning time (presuming you meant a mated pair of each when you said "rams" in the plural). They will fiercly guard their eggs and fry - so with two pairs of cichlids you could find the tank becomes a little aggressive in nature with fish being chased about by one or either (or both) pairs of rams. Not saying they would necessarily kill your smaller fish but there could certainly be a lot of stress in the tank!

Added to that the RTBS and that's even more possible aggression, depending on its personality (the one I have in with some platys, a molly and fry is exceptionally placid but not the norm).

It might be best to forget the RTBS and only go for one set of rams (unless your tank is on the large side so that clear territories can be set).

I have no experience of Corys or Plecs so can't comment on those.

I'm no expert, of course, these are just my thoughts based on personal observations.

The cory's should be fine although I would maybe just go for one type and get more of them.

The common plec is a big nono unless your tank is huge, even then you could prob go for diff fish instead.

If you decide to go with cichlids I would only choose a pair of one type, unless you wanted a cichlid only tank.

Neons will need a mature tank (set up at least 4 months after finished cycling) and are very nippy fish so you would have to stay away from anything wil lovely fins and tails like angels and guppies etc).

RTBS are hit and miss, if you tank is large enough and you have enough hiding places you "should" be fine but will need to keep an eye on him.

Not sure about the zebra plec.

I personally love zebra danios, they are very fast, shiny and interesting to watch, all that combined with being fairly hardy fish. A group of 6 or more of them would be good depending on your tank size, what was it again?

the others have covered most of the fish really, but you do know how expensive zebra plecs are, and they don't tend to do well in community setups, they do best in speicies only tanks, less comptition that way
