I got these two lovely angels nearly two weeks ago, and unfortunately the community tank i had them in has suffered an ammonia/nitrite spike, and the majority of the fish have got ich and fungus (my partners sons fault, was supposed to be looking after the tank while we were away for 5 days, and he didnt at all). Ive since lost 8 fish, and although the angels werent showing any signs of illness, i decided to move them to their own tank today to make sure they dont get ill.
But i did notice in the new tank (brighter light) some red veins on one of them (just about visible in first pic) on the top of their body, and their gills look quite red? I was treating the other tank with heat and protozin. Are they sensitive to it? Is there anything i should be doing?

were the gills always that red? if so they lok like blushing angels to me so nothing to worry about there. the red veins im not sure about though...

maybe just do plenty of good water changes and feed well for a while to see if they improve at all. i wouldnt chuck meds in unless your 100%

Looks like ammonia poisoning. Keep up the water changes. Was the tank you transferred them into a cycled sick tank or did you just fill the tank and toss them in? And what caused the spike in your tank? Filter failure,New tank, over stocked tank, Lack of filtration? Hope I can help. Oh and don't mind the newbie status..I am new to the site but have been fish keeping for years and love it
