Hello. I have 4 Harlequin Rasboras. I had six originally (that was all the store had so don't @ me) but 2 died. I saw that one of the deceased had ick. I don't want the rest of the fish to get ick. So how do I dose aquarium salt to prevent that ick from spreading without resorting to ick x. I have a carbon filter and personally don't feel like dismantling it.

Thank you.

Aquarium salt doesn't kill ich but heat does. Turn the heater up to get the water to 86 deg F as measured by a thermometer inside the tank and leave it at that setting for 2 weeks.

Those thermometers which stick on the outside of the tank can be affected by the air temperature, and the settings on the heater dial are often inaccurate as most heaters are badly calibrated.
