hehe, thats exactly what i was thinking when i decided to start one up. i already work at petco(some of us DO know what we're talkiung about, lol) and used ot a petsmart(petsmart sux, go to petco), so i have access to many aquarium owners. A couple of the guys and I back at petsmart started talking about this. One of use actually started one, hes got about 8-10 clients so far, and i'm jsuty starting mine up right now.

thnx steve-0, i hope it does well too.

petsmart and petco, cool wish i could land a job at totalpet or petcetera (the ones here). but they only hire people who dont know anyhting.

You've probaly already thought of this but maybe try making flyers and dropping them off at various places.

haha, well, most large scale pet shops, do only hire ppl who dont know anything about pets. but there are a few exception(1 or 2 ppl per store), that know something, or are specialists. me. i'm the aquatics guy. specialty is in cichlids, primaraly african cichlids. i've had fresh water fish(tropical community) since i was 7 though. and as of 2 months ago, i'm into saltwater(nano-ref tanks) as well.

*holds up stack of flyers*, i also got some business cards being made.

yup, i'm going out tomorrow morning to some doctors offices i know of, and dropping some off at those, and at some restaurants in the rich neighborehoods :) i also got my flyers up in all the petco bullitin boards in the san fernando valley (7 stores). But no replys so for :( all i need, is to get that one first client. but its all good. hopefully, tomorrow will weild some results :)

here is a site i found........not as visually stunning as yours but a lot of good info and examplessite
thnx, yeh, ive visited these guys many times. hopfully, i cna turn my services into a full-time gig.

but first i need to learn more about wet/dry system set-up and maintenance, and i need to find someone who can design acrylic tanks as well. but for now, i'm gonna stick to simple set-ups that i know how to run forward and backaward, and only to fresh water. :)

oh hey, btw, what are your 3 tanks?

did you ever see deus bigalo? tho i dont think he was primarily a tank service guy. there must be a big gap in the market there. also resteraunts and stuff that have badly maintained setups. its worth being able to do marine i think.

:) I have a 33 gallon with a firemouth a couple johannis, a blue lobster and a convict. (weird mix I know but they all go wel together and some were gifts to me so i don't mind. MY 2nd tank is a 15 gallon long which is empty in my room cycling. And my third tank is a ten gallon that is at my brothers gf. It has 3 puffers and 2 pearl danios......I do the maintenace and everything on that one and she just buys the fish

yeh, well, i jsut payed a visit to some doctors offices, and dropped off a ton of flyers, and also visited a chinese restaurant that i knew had a badly managed 90-100 gallon goldfish tank. i gave them my flyers, hopefully, they'll give me a call :)

Good Luck to you WorldNation :D I hope you get enough business to quit your day job!

I am starting my own tech support business, I hang flyers in my dreams now, I think.
