Hiya's,

My 6x2x2 ready built was the largest i could manage to get up two flights of stairs and into situ

Does anyone know before i start calling around if any aquarium manufacturers would sell a tank in pieces (eg: cut and ready to seal up)

I've been asking (err well begging) the future missus about a larger tank, either 8x2x2 or 9x2x2 or slightly taller even lol

But the max length pre-built i can get up the stairs is 6 foot and this only leaves a couple of inch clearance at times due to the stair layout/emergency lights/gas pipes/water pipes (you name it they are boxed in and stick out lol)

My idea was, source the bare tank as such, then i have an old gent i used to live next door to, he used to work for clear-seal, he still keeps his hand in and makes smaller tanks that he can manage to move around on his own (he is over pension age but still loves to do bits n bobs)

So with this i'm really hoping maybe someone has been in a similar situation and have sourced a flat-pack so to speak

Cheers

You might search the hardware section of the forum. There have been plenty of discussions of scratch building in that section. WD

Sure, most people who will custom build tanks will do that for you. Otherwise you can get the glass from Roman Glass (IME they are good, but somewhere else is also fine) and do it yourself.

Hehe,

Concrete plinth floors circa 1946, overscreeded too

More solid than i thought after further investigations

(so really a lot lot stronger than some of the new builds nowadays ;-)

Cheers for replies :)

Tony
