Hi just picked up a aquaone aquamode 300 20L comes
With hood lights heater and filter even the stand all for £10

I hope 20lts is ok for a betta ?
And maybe a little school of something ?

The filter is a aqua one 101f maxi it says it's good for upto 40 lts what do you think ?
Sadly it's been out of the tank for 2 weeks so I'm going to have to cycle it

Unless you think it's abit small ?

Anyway here it is just needs a clean

In what way is it small?
Is 20lts of water not enough?

Cheers

You will be ok for a Betta. I would give the shoal of something a miss though. Maybe go for a snail instead?

Agreed with the other fish - I'd personally just go for shrimp in there. This sized tank should be fine for a betta though. At max a couple of endlers in with him as I am aware a couple of people on the forum have that setup in a similar tank size.
I wouldn't have that much gravel in there once it's all set up though - I wouldn't personally have much more than an inch or so as I cannot imagine more is nescescary in this case and it just takes up more of the volume of the tank. I'd advise you have some broad leaved plants in there for a betta as they often tend to enjoy resting on them :good:

Cheers thanks going to clean it all up over the weekend and start to cycle it....

Cheers

20 litres should be just fine for a singleBetta splendens. As you have already recognized, a tank should be cycled before adding any live fish to it. That tiny tank should display a B. splendens very nicely.

Cleaned out the tank today, washed the gravel heater and new sponge in filter

This is the temp look for now

It's a bit weird to look at with the rounded front anyway let's see how it goes

It'll be fine for a Betta & maybe a couple of shrimp.
Are you going to have some plants in it as Bettas like to rest on plants

£10 what a bargin! Good job i dont come across tanks this cheap, i would be over run very quickly.
Will make a betta very happy :) keep up the good work.
