Aps 2000Ef

Hi just recieved my new APS 2000EF filter is anybody running one of these on this forum filter had come with 4 media baskets and 2 bags of ceramics 2 bags charcoal and 1 bag  bio balls also 4 pieces of floss how should these be placed in the canister as the booklet that came with filter tells you nothing

Hi, i am running the APS 1000EF
 
Mine has three baskets and came with 1 bag of charcoal, 1 bag of bio balls and 1 bag of ceramics
 
The charcoal was discarded and I added some more bio balls that I already had
 
The baskets were filled with the media and the floss was placed on top of each of the media baskets
 
I have read that using floss on all of the baskets can cause the filter to block
 
I am on my third month now since setting the filter up and i still havent stripped it down to clean it as the water flow has not reduced at all!!!!

Similarly here. It has quite a vast media capacity, but I've heard of issues with clogging. I filled my bottom tray with alphagrog from another filter to seed it, then the bioballs then ceramics then the floss. The carbon is sitting in the cabinet. I've not had any clogging issues in this set up either.

Ive heard these are really REALLY prone to leaking, nearly bought one myself till i did my homework on them, many people report they leak after 3 months +
 
So id rather pay the extra for a better filter

They're not wonderful for power consumption either, if you pay your electric bill they more expensive ones may work out cheaper.

I am running my APS alongside an Eheim 2073
 
The APS runs a lot quieter and at the moment requires less maintenance than the Eheim too
