Hi

I need some advice regarding a snails breeding tank and silver dollars.

I have a 180 litre tank. Currently all that's in there are 4 fully grown apple snails, about 30 very young apple snails (about 5mm diameter), and two clutches of eggs.

I have moved the silver dollars to another tank (there's 2 of them about 2" long and 1 about 6" long). In my reading, I've found that the silver dollar is noted as herbivore or omnivore depending on the source (and from watching them eat I'd say omnivore).

If I put them back into the 180 tank, are they going to eat the snails as they hatch? Will they try to eat the very small snails?

Just checked the tank and I now have one less clutch and a many more tiny snails! Forgot to mention before - I also have a handfull of trumpet snails in the tank. I don't know how they got there.
