i will be getting 2 apistogramma Borellii soon. I read online that they are happy in a 5 gallon (i didnt believe that) so, they will be going in a 10 gallon tank. Right now the tank has 5 mosuito fish and 1 cherry shrimp (to keep the filter cycled) and 8 crypts, 1 mother crypt, some driftwood, 1 pvc pipe cave, 1 driftwood, 1 peice of slate. Should i remove the crypts and add Indain Almond leaves instead? I read that the leaves should cover the entire substrate but, idk how that would be possible with plants. So what should i do?

I would leave the plants and just add 2-3 leaves to add tannins and what not to the water.
