Hi all just checked on my female an she's laid eggs on the roof of coconut :good: . The eggs are a sought of red colour. Does this mean their fertilised? Cheers

Apisto eggs are usually red. It's when they're white that they're infertile.

I'm so tempted to go buy a pair of these in my LFS tomorrow...they have a beautiful pair just begging to be in my tank.

Dont know were your from but my LFS sells them £11.95 a pair. I bought 1 male 2 females from them for £17.95. its now looking a good buy!

Good new / bad news? Eggs have disappeared but female still in coconut. :-(

Sounds like my trifasciatas. They've spawned several times now, and the female always eats them. The longest they've lasted is 3 days. From what I understand, this is quite common when a pair first start to spawn, but mine still don't seem to have the hang of it.

Gutted no fry!! but she's trying to attract male again. Didnt realise she would so soon.

My pair of trifasciatas spawned every two weeks regular as clockwork throughout the summer and autumn. They've not spawned as often for the last couple of months though. The trio of borellis I had before them also spawned every two weeks though the two females always laid infertile white eggs. You'll have to wait and see if your agassizis stick to the same timetable, or spawn more frequently than my apistos.

Im picking up a pair of wild Apisto Rotpunkt later an couple of juvenile Apisto Macmasteri. So hope i can get these to breed as well. Need a female borelli as i bought 3 and they all turned out male!
