Morning,

I've just woken up and switched my fish tank light on and I've noticed my male Apistogramma Agasizzii doesn't look his usual self. His tail has become a lot more pointy than usual and he is stopped up in the corner of my tank on the bottom. He isn't really very active, but has retained his colours.

I'm sure theres something up as he's never behaved like this since I got him. Any ideas?

Thanks

Water readings and set-up information, please.

Are his fins clamped against his body? has he been flicking or rubbing? are there any marks on his body at all? Clamped fins and flicking and rubbing is usually a sign of a parasite, you might not be able to see anything yet but check him over.

Are there any other tank mates? are they all ok. Another reason he could be down and quite is have you noticed any bullying in the tank, is he being picked on by another fish, sometimes they can go quiet due to bullying.

I would suggest a wc and see how he goes with some fresh water, see if that picks him up a bit.

As the advice above says.

Also, if he has retained all his colour then it's not overly serious right now IMO, as apisto's tend to go darker when somethings serious, but that can change.
